Did you set any New Year’s resolutions for 2014? Add one more resolution to your list: support your local art community. An easy way to support the arts in our neighborhood is to attend First Fridays. The start to the 2014 First Fridays season is tonight, January 3.
To help improve safety in the area, Virginia Commonwealth University has announced that they plan to relocate the VCU police office to Broad Street between the Monroe Park and medical campuses. The cost to relocate the police headquarters will be approximately $1 million.
Will you be heading out tonight for the December First Fridays? It will be a great night for last minute holiday shopping.

From Virginia Business: Sauer Properties Inc. has purchased a six-acre site in Richmond two blocks from the Bon Secours Redskins Training Facility for $3.8 million.

The City of Richmond and CultureWorks are pleased to announce the launch of a new Arts and Cultural District Micro Grant Program. The Micro Grant Program is one of several recent city initiatives targeted to the Broad Street Arts and Cultural District.
