More of the Same: Man robbed at gunpoint at Henry and Broad

RICHMOND, Va. –

No shots were fired and no one was injured in an armed robbery on a downtown Richmond street late Monday night near Virginia Commonwealth University’s main academic campus.

Richmond police said the robbery occurred at 11:50 p.m. near the intersection of North Henry and West Broad streets, just east of the northeastern tip of VCU’s Monroe Park campus.

Capt. Angela Greene said the victim was confronted by two males, one of whom had a handgun and demanded money. The victim surrendered his cell phone and wallet, and the suspects fled on foot.

Greene said the suspects were described only as black males, about 18-21 years old, both of whom had dreadlocks.
