The Amazing Raise

Help support local nonprofit organizations by donating during the Amazing Raise, a 36 hour giving challenge from 6:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 19 to 6:00 p.m. Thursday, September 20 at www.giverichmond.org. Your donation will help local Jackson Ward and the surrounding community work towards eliminating homelessness and enrich the community through arts and culture. Why is The Amazing Raise a good opportunity for our community?
In 2010, The Community Foundation launched GiveRichmond as a way to broadly share knowledge about local nonprofits and the important issues facing our region. Our goal is to make philanthropy accessible, fun and easy for our entire community.

Today, GiveRichmond provides in-depth information about 400+ local nonprofits — a number that is growing daily. Donors use the site to better inform their giving, while local foundations use it to conduct due diligence on their grantmaking. As a result of this community wide support, we are excited to host the second annual Amazing Raise as a special opportunity for nonprofits and their supporters.

The Amazing Raise is a 36-hour donation period designed to expand and increase giving to local nonprofits, which are an essential part of ensuring the health and vibrancy of our region. Last year, The Amazing Raise generated $630,000 for 270 nonprofits through 6,400 donations and grant prizes. With over $100,000 up for grabs and more organizations participating this year, the Greater Richmond community has an opportunity to raise the bar and set a new giving record!
