Leigh Street a Finalist for Redskins Training Camp
The City has narrowed the list of potential training camp sites for the Washington Redskins down to two, City Stadium and Leigh Street behind the Science Museum. The City considers the Leigh Street location, stretching from Hermitage Road to the Boulevard, an empty slate that would allow the Redskins an opportunity to design a facility from scratch. The property is currently owned by the State.
From RVANews:
City officials expect that a one-time investment of approximately $10 million will be needed to prepare the final site. Officials estimate that the investment will lead to approximately $8.5 million to the city each year for the next eight years.
