In the Next Room at Theatre Gym through September 8

Through September 8, performances of In the Next Room (or the vibrator play), will take place at Virginia Rep’s Theatre Gym.

A 2010 Tony Award nominee for Best Play and Pulitzer Prize finalist, this playful and entertaining story set at the dawn of the age of electricity examines the medical treatment of hysteria of Victorian-era women. In the Next Room or the vibrator play is a groundbreaking examination of marriage and love.

The production contains nudity and is recommended for ages 16+. Tickets are $26. Produced by Cadence Theatre Company, in partnership with Virginia Rep’s Theatre Gym
