Standoff in Carver

Troubled veteran holds off police for several hours before peaceful surrender –

A man who barricaded himself in his home for much of Wednesday afternoon surrendered peacefully after Richmond police evacuated nearby homes in the Carver neighborhood and kept residents away.

The unidentified man was taken into custody about 6:30 p.m. by police, including SWAT team members, who had surrounded a home in the 1200 block of West Moore Street for most of the afternoon
