Going Postal in Greater Jackson Ward
may be about to change and for the worse. The USPS is considering closing both post offices downtown. Currently there is a full service post office at 7th and Main and a smaller scale office on 2nd Street. 2nd Street is one of those neighborhood post offices where the workers know your name and vice versa, not very efficient, but makes the neighborhood a friendlier place. I’ll be sorry to see them go.

maybe TPTB will ultimately decide to keep one or both of these offices open. it’s just under consideration at the moment. i wonder if there’s a way to voice my support for these locations? hmmmmm.
